About the Marlins Diving Club

The Greenwich Family YMCA Marlins Diving Club is a non-profit community based organization offering diving instruction from the beginner level to the senior competitive level. We are located in downtown Greenwich, CT at the Greenwich Family YMCA's brand new 50-meter Olympic Aquatics Center. The Marlins diving program emphasizes positive learning in a safe, fun, and competitive environment and a chance for all levels to participate at local, regional, and national events. It is the mission of the Marlins Diving Club, in conjunction with the Greenwich Family YMCA, to provide the community with an opportunity to experience and excel at the great Olympic sport of springboard diving while enabling each participant to reach their maximum potential in the areas of physical and emotional strength, competitiveness, companionship and team spirit.

Team Levels

Lessons - Designed for the beginner diver with no diving experience as an introduction to the sport. Basic skills and fundamentals will be emphasized. Click here to learn more about Diving Lessons.

Team Levels
Team levels are determined by a combination of age and ability. There will be the opportunity to move to advanced levels from session to session and all levels will have the opportunity to compete throughout the season. Placement for all levels will be determined by analysis through a scheduled evaluation.
Bronze - The Bronze team is a beginner level team designed to continue teaching basics while learning a list of dives on the one-meter and an introduction to the three-meter. Bronze team divers will commit to 10-week training sessions throughout the season and practice two days per week for one hour.
Silver - designed for the intermediate diver with competitive diving experience. Silver divers will continue to work on fundamentals while introducing new dives on both 1 and 3-meter boards. Silver divers will practice 3 days a week for 1 ½ hours.
Gold - The Gold team is an advanced level that will continue to teach strong fundamentals while introducing optional dives on both one and three-meter boards and advanced training techniques with the goal of qualifying for National meets. Gold team divers will commit to 10-week sessions throughout the season and practice four to six days per week for 90 minutes. The Gold team will have the additional requirement of a one-hour strength and conditioning session each week on Saturday mornings at 9:00 a.m.
Masters - The Masters team is an opportunity for adults to continue their diving training in a fun, relaxed and stimulating environment. Both one and three meter boards will be used and strength conditioning will be included in each practice. Masters divers will have the opportunity to compete throughout the season.  Masters divers will commit to 10 week sessions throughout the season and practice one day per week for 90 minutes on Saturday afternoons.
