Aquatics Volunteers

The Aquatics Department is looking for swim teachers, water exercise instructors and administrative assistants. Benefits include free YMCA and American Red Cross training and certification as well as the smiles on the faces of grateful members. Call Bob Meadows at 869-1630 x214 for more information. 

Aquatics Coaches in Training

Designed for those interested in learning how to coach from the pool deck, this program is a volunteer position where you will assist the coaches and become a valuable part of the Greenwich Marlins Swim Team. Applicants must be current or former competitive swimmers who can swim all four competitive strokes.  Must be available 3-5 days per week.  Minimum age is 16.  Background check required.  For more information please contact Bob Meadows at 869-1630 x214.

Birthday Parties

Remember how much fun a birthday party can be for a kid? Help a kid celebrate their special day by spending one to two hours a week participating in YMCA birthday parties. Organize sports activities or supervise our awesome inflatable Big Fun Run. Parties take place on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Contact Susan Baird, sbaird@gwymca.org or 869-1630 x211.  

Communications and Marketing Volunteer/ Internship

If you're a high school or college student interested in entering the communications field, you know how important experience is on your resume. Here's your chance to learn career skills hands-on in a friendly and casual environment. You'll learn about public relations, marketing, direct mail, advertising and more. The Greenwich Family Y is currently looking for a volunteer or intern to complete vital tasks on a regular basis. School credit may be available. Kidsevents.com Maintenance 

Are you computer savvy? Help the Marketing Department update the Kidsevents.com website. Kidsevents.com is an excellent resource for safe and fun activities for children. If you have just a few hours each month, please contact Kate Petrov for more information, 869-1630 x212 or kpetrov@gwymca.org

Sports Clinic Coaches

We need coaches for a variety of sports like soccer, basketball, floor hockey, inline hockey, and wiffle ball. Make a difference in a child's life by forming lasting relationships and teaching confidence. Sports clinics take place weekday afternoons typically from 3-5 p.m. Volunteer anywhere from two to eight hours per week. Opportunities also exist on the weekends.
